Carolyn Marie was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated in 2007 from Warren Central High School in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She moved on to attend the University of Louisville on a full academic scholarship as a Psychology major. However, those proved to be tough times for her as she found it too troubling to adjust to college life. Instead she dropped out in 2008 and moved in with her grandmother while she figured out what she wanted to do. She focused solely on writing and completing her first urban fiction novel Atlanta Love Jones. At the same time, she was compiling poems into what would become her first poetry book, Damaged: The Poems, that she developed while struggling with anxiety and depression. She self-published Damaged two years later in 2010 through AuthorHouse Publishing. Amongst finishing her first two books, Carolyn went on to write three more entitled, I, Bang, Not Who You Think I Am, and They Call Me Insane. She worked to both edit and create the cover art for each work. In 2011, she met her husband, Rob, and the following year they were expecting their first son, Christian. In the midst of her pregnancy, she decided to go back to school and enrolled in Southern New Hampshire University's online campus as a Creative Writing major. She and her husband married in 2014 and had a second son, Amarri, in 2016. Carolyn is now actively working on several ventures. She is in her final year of her degree, diversifying and sharing her art portfolio with the world, and developing more writing in the form of a thrilling screenplay titled Always and Forever, short stories including The Pretty Girl with the Ugly Face, and a series of children's books titled The Au-some Adventures of Christian based on her son's journey with autism. In addition, Carolyn is a weekly Content Creator for SNHU Odyssey and is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society.
