They Wait Below (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798259416758)

The ocean was supposed to be empty.

It wasn't.

When Brielle joins a deep-sea research station in the middle of open water, she expects isolation, routine, and maybe a few harmless shadows moving far beneath the surface. What she finds instead is something watching back-something learning.

At first, it's subtle.

A shift in the water.

A pattern that doesn't quite repeat.

A feeling that the ocean isn't reacting... but anticipating.

Then the system begins to change.

The station's experimental tracking network-designed to study shark behavior-starts adapting faster than it should. Predicting movement. Controlling flow. Turning the ocean itself into something structured, something intelligent.

And something hungry.

When containment fails, the truth surfaces:

The sharks weren't being studied.

They were being trained.

Now, with the station collapsing and the ocean rising to reclaim it, Brielle and a small group of survivors must escape a system that has already learned how to hunt them-and worse, has created something beyond anything nature ever intended.

Something that doesn't just follow. Something that waits.

They Wait Below is a gripping YA survival thriller packed with relentless tension, psychological dread, and a chilling question: What happens when the ocean starts thinking back?
