Thus Spake Zarathustra (Hardcover) (ISBN-13: 9781161482638)

Thus Spake Zarathustra is a philosophical novel by Friedrich Nietzsche, first published in 1883. The book is written in a poetic and aphoristic style, and is divided into four parts. It tells the story of Zarathustra, a prophet who has spent ten years in solitude in the mountains and has now returned to civilization to share his wisdom with the people.Throughout the book, Zarathustra speaks on a variety of topics, including the concept of the ""bermensch"" (superman), the death of God, the eternal recurrence, and the will to power. He also critiques traditional morality and religion, advocating for a new morality based on individual freedom and self-realization.The book has been interpreted in a variety of ways, and has been praised for its literary style and its influence on modern philosophy and literature. It has also been criticized for its controversial ideas and its potential to be misinterpreted as promoting nihilism or fascism.Overall, Thus Spake Zarathustra is a challenging and thought-provoking work that continues to be widely read and debated by scholars and readers alike.I used to have a copy of the Portable Nietzche from Penguin or whoever. Most of part three from Zarathustra was gone, replaced by a repeated big chunk from part II, then went straight to part IV. You won't have that problem. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
