David Bowie even wrote a song called 1984, although he really wrote it in 1974 and the outlook wasn't exactly a positive one, it just goes to show how much the year 1984 was on everyone's mind from the start. And it turned out that his premonitions for 1984 never came to fruition and that is because all in all, it was a fantastic year.
