Time's Up (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798295837852)

Time's Up by Theodore Pysh delves into the chilling intersection of technology, mortality, and destiny in a not-so-distant future. Set in 2045, the story revolves around a groundbreaking innovation by United Global Life and Casualty: a system that can predict the exact date and cause of death for any individual with 98.6% accuracy.

Kerry Richmond, a brilliant actuary, developed the algorithm that powers this astonishing service, transforming it into a global phenomenon. People, driven by curiosity, fear, and the desire for control, flock to the company to learn when their lives will end and how. From individuals seeking closure to those who fear the truth, the book follows a diverse range of characters whose lives are irrevocably changed by this knowledge.

Time's Up explores the profound consequences of knowing your death day through poignant, suspenseful, and sometimes darkly comedic stories. Characters like Wesley Caulder, a wealthy bachelor who finds unexpected love, and Robert Collier, who tries to outwit the system to avoid facing his fate, raise the ultimate question: Is it better to know the day we die, or does ignorance allow us to live freely?

Through these intertwining narratives, Pysh questions free will, human resilience, and whether foreknowledge of our death truly empowers us or traps us in a cycle of anxiety. A captivating exploration of the limits of human control and the ethical dilemmas of a future where death can be calculated to the day.
