Tomanji's Big Trade: A Money Story About Value, Trading, and Wants vs. Needs. (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798194103201)

The shiniest thing in the market isn't always the best deal.

It's Swap Day in Whispering Wood, and Tomanji is ready for his very first trade! Acorns for honey, honey for carrots - trading is wonderful... until a dazzling silver mirror catches his eye. Before he knows it, Tomanji has swapped away his acorns and his beloved map for one shiny thing that can't do a single useful thing.

Can Tomanji make things right? With two wise questions from a wise old owl - Do I need it, or do I just want it? - and a clever, fair trade with Pip the magpie, he discovers that the best deal isn't the shiniest one. It's the fair one.

A warm, funny read-aloud that turns value, trading, and "wants vs. needs" into a story children ask for again and again.

• A cosy, laugh-out-loud summer story for ages 3-7
