With the help of Hope Christian Church and the Saybrook Alumni Association, Marie spent eight weeks providing psychological services in various parts of Haiti after the earthquake. She holds a bachelor's in biological sciences, a master's in counseling psychology, and a doctorate in psychology. She is a private practitioner (LCPC), a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT), an adjunct faculty at both Central Michigan University and Prince Georges Community College, a mother, and previously served as a guidance counselor for 13 years.
