In retirement she has spent her years volunteering as a Guest Reader in the elementary classrooms of her beloved school, Douglass KK-8 Grades School in Memphis, Tennessee. She also is actively involved in church ministry work, as an Instructor in Missionary Candidate Institute, and community involvement activities. Mary Alyce enjoys journal writing, reading, traveling, growing house plants, and spending time with her loving supportive family. Mary Alyce was inspired to write this book during the Covid-19 pandemic, after experiencing personal loss of her two brothers, close together, from Covid-19. She has compiled journal writings throughout the years.
