In the not-too-distant future, the world is much as it is now, but with lots of neat gadgets. Many of these new technologies are the direct result of an unorthodox research and development group known by the unedifying moniker of Trick Lever Hens (TLH). TLH is a collection of hundreds of bizarre and creative individuals whose goal is not to subjugate the planet, but to make cool new stuff.

One group at TLH is investigating the urban legend of socks disappearing in clothes dryers. To find the missing socks, the team enlists the aid of fellow TLH employee, Harrold, who has a knack for finding things and is routinely called upon to recover items gone missing during TLH's wild and varied experiments.

In his typical haphazard fashion, Harrold embarks on a quest to find the missing socks. He soon discovers that the socks' disappearance is merely a side effect of a group of time-traveling aliens' project to enslave all of a mankind. In trying to stop this threat, Harrold is thrown back and forth through time like a popcorn kernel in a hot air popper. Harold manages to meet the girl of his dreams along the way, but can he thwart the aliens' evil plan?
