Literally hundreds of gigs in just a short period of time were Jacobson's education by fire. He would be the bandleader and conductor from the very beginning, even while learning the craft of the stage from old pro Herb Reed. It was an amazing opportunity to meet a career worth of entertainment business contacts and ever more import performers. By the end of the 1980's Michael Jacobson had performed from one end of North America to the other with The Drifters, The Coasters, The Shirelles and the dynamic Little Anthony & The Original Imperials.
