Sterling finds himself able to attain the material possessions he craved. His fully restored G-Wagon and his new home on a hill provide him with the validation he needs to satisfy his ego. His legitimate legal work zealously representing an innocent client earned him national recognition and acclaim as a defender of individual liberty. His lesser known status as lawyer for the street gang lands him in the cross-hairs of a dangerous and desperate gang client. But Sterling is resourceful and hard to kill.

Success comes at a price for Preston Sterling. He finds himself on the verge of falling into the abyss of rampant narcissism and runaway arrogance. Then he falls in love with Taylor Jane. She is a young, beautiful Army JAG lawyer who makes Sterling want to be a better man.
