Arthur Perkins is an electrical engineer by training and a Christian at heart who takes seriously the commandment of Moses, repeated by Jesus, to "Love our God with all our hearts, souls and might." In honor of that love, Art and his wife Carolyn have devoted time to sharing Scripture with others in nursing and assisted-living homes. Art and Carolyn live in the foothills of Mount Rainier in rural Western Washington. Buddy was followed by three other novels, Cathy, Jacob, and Home, Sweet Heaven involving the fictional character Earl Cook and his wife Joyce. In addition to the novels, Art has written a Christian nonfiction book entitled Marching to a Worthy Drummer, in which he addresses the true nature of the Holy Spirit who, unfortunately, has been misrepresented by the Church for a distressingly long time. Art and his wife Carolyn have shared together many of the experiences described in his novels. Since their retirement, they continue to build a repertoire of treasured memories out of their mutual interests and incredible adventures. Residing above the unifying themes of Christian service and the understanding of Scripture dwells the all-important subject of love: the love of God toward us and the possibility of its return to Him by us. On top of that love between God and the human race is the amazing love that exists within the Godhead Itself.
