Under An Assumed Name: Influence, Observation, and the choice to remain. (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798242491823)

An alien intelligence arrives on Earth with a narrow assignment: embed early, teach quietly, and shape behavior without being seen. Taking the identity of an American schoolteacher, he enters the education system not to enlighten, but to stabilize. He is one of many placed throughout human society, each guiding perception, reinforcing compliance, and ensuring that resistance never fully forms.

For years, the role functions as designed. Lessons are delivered. Metrics improve. Oversight from a distant lunar authority remains constant and precise. But human life introduces variables no model anticipates. Relationships form. A family emerges. Time accumulates. Observation turns into participation, and the boundary between influence and belonging begins to erode.

As communication with his controllers becomes strained and suspicion grows, the teacher makes a decision no asset is permitted to make: he stops reporting. Choosing permanence over recall, he accepts the risk of discovery and the cost of remaining hidden in plain sight. What follows is not open conflict, but a quiet pursuit, conducted through subtle pressure, indirect surveillance, and the slow testing of loyalty.

Under An Assumed Name is a restrained science fiction novel about hidden control, institutional influence, and the unnoticed ways power operates through everyday systems. It explores identity, choice, and resistance not through rebellion or spectacle, but through endurance, domestic life, and the decision to remain human when leaving would be easier.

This novel will appeal to readers of literary science fiction, alien infiltration narratives, and quiet dystopian fiction, particularly those interested in stories about education, surveillance, embedded observers, and the subtle mechanisms of social control.
