Under the Shadows of Men: political and philosophical quotes book two (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781548490478)

A second collection of quotes, ideas and thoughts taken from various works of christopher dutton but primarily focuses on the nature and conflicts of 'meaning' as an Individual human being and as a integral of Society...for example...757.Man, itself, was not meant to be a horde, a swarm, an all-consuming collective.....indeed just as entropy as a universal law causes dispersion of energy and matter throughout ......so, too, evolution of earth, as a natural law or process, requires expansive diversity.Men, instead, has become the virus of Nature herself...seeking to destroy its Host and the very mechanism of both its beginning and subsequent end(s) ...that of evolution itself.770. Over our thousands of years, one sees this 'drive' to 'fill in the causality spaces' between a beginning to an end to create an understandable ( and therefore repeatable) series of events..ie shit seeds, fruit next year in same place...or drought last year, much rain next year with only the accidental drowning of an infant as a plausable difference thus yielding a belief in a necessity human sacrifice. This comes naturally at first from a mind surviving by repeating 'steps' to yield desired results......the 'problem' became when the 'mind' became impatient and obsessed with its ability to understand and complete and thus yielded to conjecture as actual truth......."" The average intellect prefers to be wrong in its beliefs than to have no beliefs at all" Rousseau ...the human mind is imperfect in all things except in its denial of its own imperfection....779.Power is 'symbolized' by civilizations' structures and icons. A dominance by violent physical, emotional, sexual acts or their innuendos. There must be both 'fear' and 'lust' involved. There must be 'pull' and 'push'; negativity and positivity, for the 'power of civilization' to flow.
