Under Watch: Rigor, Voice, and the Bodies We Bring Across (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798274672481)

UNDER WATCH is a book about the cost of being seen.
In academia, science, and ritual life, legitimacy is never neutral. Some voices pass easily; others are slowed, questioned, or silenced. Through a blend of theory, lived experience, and razor-sharp cultural insight, Martin Lepage exposes the hidden tolls of belonging - the thresholds that reshape our breath, our pace, our bodies, and the knowledge we dare to share.

Moving between queer Pagan ritual, AI-mediated authorship, peer review politics, disability studies, and public-health research, Under Watch reveals how fluency, clarity, and "professionalism" are not universal virtues but aesthetic demands that reward certain bodies and exclude others. What emerges is a powerful challenge to the myth of neutrality - and a call to rethink rigor as something more expansive, embodied, and plural.

Written with intensity and intellectual precision, Under Watch is both a critique and a reclamation: a book for scholars, practitioners, and anyone who has ever felt the weight of a room before they spoke in it.

A searing exploration of voice, legitimacy, and the bodies we cross the world with - and the worlds that reshape us in return.
