Laura's past involved her mother, her mother's actions, and alien DNA. Matt had some secrets of his own. The involvement of all these agencies endangered those secrets coming to life. If that happened, neither of their lives would ever be the same. While investigating Laura and Matt, two police detectives come to the realization that their partnership was much more than they knew. They also discovered that the law they always tried to uphold didn't quite fit the situation they became involved in.
