This book introduces therapists to systems theory, demonstrating a method of delivering therapy in a way that will better serve the people who live with aphasia and their families, as well as the clinician themselves. It is an essential resource for both students and seasoned clinicians.
Susie Hayden was born and raised in Tanzania; she studied Language and Linguistics at York University, and Postgraduate Speech and Language Therapy in 1990. Susie's passion for working with individuals and families experiencing aphasia, carers and professionals is enhanced by her Systemic Family Therapy training and practice since 2016. An experienced trainer and clinical educator, in both theoretical and practical aspects of aphasia therapy, Susie was Specialist Clinical Advisor to the CQC for four years. After 25 years specialising in aphasia therapy within NHS hospitals and community settings, recent years have seen her focus on charity and voluntary sectors and running her own practice.
