The Vietnam War was a battle fought between democracy and totalitarianism. It was idealistically, rather than reality-based. Perhaps it was intended to help South Vietnam, which desired freedom achieve it. Even though the Allied forces won all the major battles, they lost the war One of the reasons may have been that the Vietnam War never seemed to end. It was the second of the Indochina Wars and was officially fought between North Vietnam and the government of South Vietnam. The North Vietnamese army was supported by the Soviet Union, China, and other communist allies; the South Vietnamese army was supported by the United States, South Korea, Australia, Thailand and other anti-communist allies.
