Vindiciae Priestleianae: An Address To The Students Of Oxford And Cambridge (1788) (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781165166046)

Vindiciae Priestleianae: An Address To The Students Of Oxford And Cambridge (1788) is a book written by Theophilus Lindsey. The book is a response to the controversy surrounding the works of Joseph Priestley, who was a theologian and natural philosopher. In the book, Lindsey defends Priestley's views on religion and science, arguing that they are not incompatible. He also criticizes the traditional views of the Church of England, arguing that they are outdated and do not reflect the true teachings of Christianity. The book is addressed to the students of Oxford and Cambridge, and is intended to encourage them to think critically about their own beliefs and to consider new ideas. Overall, Vindiciae Priestleianae is an important work in the history of religious thought, and is still relevant today for its defense of reason and rationality in the face of tradition and dogma. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
