Elisabeth Johnson is a graduate of Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Immediately after graduating in 2009, she was afforded the opportunity to work for former Mayor of Houston, Bill White, when he ran for Governor of Texas against Rick Perry in 2010. While on staff the campaign administration moved her to Dallas, TX to cover a lot of ground within Dallas County and the surrounding areas. She's helped organizations like the Texas Organizing Project (TOP) and Working America to pass the Wage Theft Ordinance in 2013, which made it possible for employers not to steal wages from their employees. She is a member of HBAD (Houston Black American Democrats), currently a graduate student at Texas Southern University in Houston, TX obtaining her Executive Master of Public Administration and continues to volunteer, organize and mentor throughout her community.
