Co-Chairman of Third World Liberation Front at Berkeley in 1969, the second longest student strike in US history resulting in establishment of ethnic studies nationally. Convicted of political activities resulting in multiple jail terms. Professor at various colleges and universities throughout California, established alternative farmworker college in Fresno before becoming a lawyer for campesinos. Moved to Hawaii in 1990 where his family runs a tortilla business.
