Warn the Devil: A Soul Retriever novel 2 (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781539106036)

If your innocent soul is sent to Hell by mistake, you had better hope your loved ones can afford a Soul Retriever.

This exciting supernatural adventure, the sequel to Soul Retrievers, is another vivid romp through the diverse landscape of Hell. Getter and Sneaker, Warn The Devil's unlikely heroes, join forces in attempting to retain the balance of good and evil - for the sake of humanity and the universe. Soul Retrievers are men and women who brave the depths and horrors of the underworld to rescue innocent souls who have been incorrectly sent to Hell.

Getter is one such Soul Retriever, and on top of his day-to-day grind against demons, wormholes, golems, and worse, he happens to be the subject of a prophecy which he wants no part of. A relatively mundane retrieval, rapidly becomes more complicated when the Soul Retriever Council volunteers Getter to go to the Golden Palace and Warn the Devil that one of his closest officers is planning to take over Hell.

With him is Sneaker, his sometime partner, sometime lover. Her skills are among the best, but she rarely receives the acclaim she deserves from the male, Soul Retrievers. On top of all that, she's recently been turned into a vampire, and isn't terribly pleased with the ordeal. Gregory, the diminutive 150-year-old soul of a Scotsman murdered in Hell who has helped Getter in the past, volunteers himself to go with them.

When someone even more evil than Satan wants to take over Hell, and doesn't care about disrupting the balance of the universe, there's only one thing to do - Warn The Devil. But will that warning be enough? Will Satan even take heed of this warning from a live Soul Retriever? Satan saves Sneaker's life, so maybe there is hope for Hell, and all of us.
