We All Love Them-So Why Can't We Agree?: A compassionate, practical guide for siblings, spouses, adult children, and extended family members learning (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798187944385)

Families can love the same person deeply-and still struggle to care together.
When someone you love begins to need more support, family relationships can become complicated. One sibling sees the day-to-day challenges. Another sees only the good moments. A spouse may feel protective. A distant relative may want to help but not know how. Meanwhile, one person may quietly carry most of the appointments, decisions, updates, and worry.
Soon, the family is no longer discussing only what their loved one needs. They are arguing about what is happening, what should be done, who should do it, and who gets to decide.
We All Love Them-So Why Can't We Agree? is a compassionate, practical guide for siblings, spouses, adult children, and extended family members learning to share care without losing sight of the person at the center.
Inside, families will learn how to:
- Understand why relatives may see the same situation differently
- Recognize the invisible work one caregiver may be carrying
- Ask for help in clear, specific, realistic ways
- Share caregiving responsibilities more fairly
- Communicate concerns without blame or accusation
- Navigate disagreements about safety, money, housing, and support
- Include nearby and long-distance family members
- Create boundaries that protect care and relationships
- Keep the person receiving care involved in decisions
- Build a flexible Family Care Agreement
Through relatable family stories, thoughtful reflection, natural conversation scripts, and practical worksheets, this guide helps families move from resentment and misunderstanding toward clearer communication and shared responsibility.
The goal is not to make every family member think alike. The goal is to help them care together without losing one another-or losing sight of the person they all love.
