Description
xWe all know about war. Has there ever been a time in history without war someplace upon the earth? Estimates run from 150 million to a billion people have died in war over the millenniums. War is tragic and horrifying; no one desires war. But no matter what we do, conflicts between people and nations never cease.
Why so much conflict? Because there is a much greater war going on all around us. It is a battle between two all-encompassing kingdoms. The kingdom of this world, as led by Satan, and the kingdom of God as led by Jesus. This is a spiritual war for the minds, hearts and souls of men, women and children. Everyone is living for one of these two kingdoms--whether they are aware of it or not. And tragically, most people are unaware of this ancient war that drives nearly every aspect of life here on earth.
Jesus taught us to pray to his Father, "Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." And Paul warns us to, "Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Ephesians 6:11-12 (NIV)
Paul also taught that Christians do not fight with the same weapons as the world. "For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds." 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 (NIV)
We're at war!!! Whether you know it or not. And everyone is engaged in this war, whether you know it or not. We have all taken a stand, whether we know it or not.
This study reveals what the Bible says about this ancient war and how we, as Christians, are to engage in the battle.
