When The Body Started Talking: Everything Hurts and I Don't Know Why Yet (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798951315007)

Before the diagnosis. Before the rating. Before anyone used the words "service-connected" - there were just the symptoms. Migraines that took days. A stomach that revolted without warning. Vertigo that made standing up feel like a gamble. Insomnia that turned nights into their own kind of deployment. A bladder that couldn't be trusted. And a lip that Ez kept biting, over and over, while she tried to hold it all together.

In Everything Hurts and I Don't Know Why Yet, Gulf War Era veteran Erica "Ez" Gadson tells the story of her body before anyone connected the dots. It's a story about being dismissed, minimized, and told to come back later - by doctors, by systems, and sometimes by herself. Written with raw honesty and the kind of dark humor that only comes from living it, this book ends where so many veterans' fights finally do: with a 100% VA disability rating, years in the making. Vol. 1 of the When The Body Started Talking series.
