Later, Lenore, her Roma companion Tsura, Count Andreas Karátsonyi, and Voltaire encounter Fleischer under the worst possible circumstances. Awakening to find herself in chains and bled to the brink of death, Lenore struggles to regain her strength and rescue her friends, but learns that she cannot save them all.
