Since the age of Sixteen Millicent Pryce has been writing and sharing her love for people, life and nature through poetic art form with family, friends, teachers and anyone who would listen or read. Her passion for Poetry was cultivated at the Denbigh High School through the interesting, creative and enthusiastic delivery of English lessons from various teachers of Language and Literature over a five year period. She was privileged to serve as the Head Girl at the institution and later the initiator and President of the school's Poetry Club. After graduating as the Valedictorian for her batch mates, she went on to study at the Mico University College. That exciting but challenging journey rewarded her with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Guidance and Counselling with electives from the Departments of Language and Literacy and Music. Millicent was an active member of the Mico University College Choir and a part of the team which compiled the College's Newsletter - The MicoScope. Several of her poems including 'Day's Rest', 'Lifetime' and 'Pregnant' have been published in The Sunday Gleaner; a renowned and widely read Jamaican newspaper. Her love for words and amusement of their power and capabilities give her the jest for life and may just be the warmth in her smile.
