Michelle Annette LaFrance is a 44 year old Mom, Sister, Auntie, Cousin, and Daughter living in Victoria BC born and raised. She has been working/ Volunteering/ and serving the people since I she was 16 years old, Michelle has continued to serve the people where ever it is needed, Currently and for the past 2 years she has been embracing and participating in indigenous ceremonies, through out British Columbia Canada. She knew at a very young age, that she had a meaningful purpose much bigger than herself. It has always been and will always be her top priority to care, love, have compassion, protect and support people who struggle with the incapability to stand up for themselves. She would like to begin by sharing where the beginning of her journey to helping Mother Earth, people and the water, first began. One of the many foundations she has supported and had the opportunity to volunteer with and serve. The Sierra Club in Victoria BC, through canvasing the inner city, sharing awareness and knowledge to the people on how important the environment is. After experiencing the taste of how one person can make a difference and impact this world, She knew then it was to be her life mission and purpose to be a part of the solution. After working with the Sierra Club, She then continued by volunteering for the next 6 years of her life working with the Mustard Seed Street Church. While volunteering in the soup kitchen as well as a peer concerning with the inner city kids. This was some of the most rewarding and forgiving work of my life; my duties included helping to bring in underprivileged/drug addicted and homeless, and to help them find a better way of life. She did this through varies things such as: job programs, music and support. We were able to get through to many individuals. It was more than clear to her at this time that she had a cause for concern and change, a great passion for people, and Mother Earth. Through High School She worked full time at a 21 person Geriatric home working in the kitchen, creating healthy menus, geared towards dietary needs. After Graduating She decided to take a year off to travel, She ended up living in West Africa Guinea Conakry for two years working and volunteering at an animal sanctuary, which in her case was helping raise baby Chimpanzees. To this day she continues to believe that Service is a gift.
