Why Are Old People My Age? (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798182726443)

Why Are Old People My Age? is a collection of original comics about one of aging's stranger discoveries: somehow, without really noticing it, all the people your age got old.

With dry humor and a slightly crabby eye, TT takes on the everyday absurdities that start showing up somewhere between "I'm not old" and "Why am I discussing parking before agreeing to a restaurant?"

Inside are comics about high school reunions filled with suspiciously old classmates, restaurants chosen for their noise level and chairs, professional athletes who suddenly look twelve, fantasy football players who are apparently "too old" at twenty-nine, good boxes that cannot possibly be thrown away, mirrors containing unexpected old people, leaving events early to beat the parking lot traffic, technology, changing bodies, grown kids, grandchildren, and all the other little signs that time has been quietly moving along whether anyone agreed to it or not.

These aren't comics about being helpless, slowing down, or learning inspirational lessons about growing older. The people in these pages are living their lives, making perfectly reasonable decisions, and occasionally wondering why everyone around them has gotten so old.

Drawn in TT's loose, exaggerated cartoon style, Why Are Old People My Age? finds the humor in the gap between how old we actually are and how old we think we are.

Funny, familiar, slightly ridiculous, and occasionally uncomfortably accurate, this book is for anyone who has looked at an old friend, a former classmate, a photograph, or the person in the mirror and thought:

Wait. When did this happen?

Unfortunately, there's no time to figure it out.

You just got a little older reading this.
