The author presents cogent reasons why it is so important that we pray at noontime. He traces the Biblical history that honors "noon" as important time in the day. He reminds us that it was the "sixth" hour (noon=12 pm) marking that time when Jesus was suffering on the Cross. Matthew, Mark and Luke all center on noon as a critical time regarding the crucifixion. "When it was noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon" when Jesus cried out with a loud voice and died (Mark 15:33-34).
