Mark G. Tozzio, M-IHHS, FACHE is Principal / Senior Health Consultant for Hospital and Physician Practice Development Consulting, Inc. (HPPD, Inc.) in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He has 36 years of diversified experience in hospital management and business development. His consulting practice focuses on organizational turnaround, process improvement, corporate strategy and planning, facilities development, and physician recruitment and relations. Mark has worked throughout the U.S., assisting organizations to recruit over 800 physicians into rural and urban communities. He has also implemented new programs and services totaling over $850 million at hospitals ranging from 25 to 500 beds. Mark is currently Adjunct Instructor for Healthcare Administration, for Northeastern State University - Oklahoma. Mark is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), Chicago, Illinois. He received his undergraduate degree, Cum Laude, from the University of Washington, Seattle -- double major in Human Ecology and Planning. He holds a Masters degree in Interprofessional Health and Human Services (M-IHHS) from the University of Oklahoma, Norman. Tall Chief, specializing in Public Health Services and Rural Health Improvement; and Willie V. Bryan, specializing in Health Promotion Sciences, who is also the author of several healthcare texts. These individuals, along with several others, have made valuable contributions during the development of this book. Mark lived 9 years in Brazil during his youth and spent a year in Amazonia mining for gold and precious minerals. Later, he authored a report on Human Ecological Studies on the Tropics in 1975 analyzing the delicate environmental balance of Amazonia's complex ecosystem.
