I am a lifelong writer with a southern voice borne out of poverty, coming out, living in diverse cultures and a general feeling of not belonging anywhere. My roots begin in South Carolina with confederates, revolutionary vets, family trees that didn't exactly fork at times, and POC somewhere in there, if the old census is correct. Living in Texas is a different kind of southern place and one that I can feel at home in with the voices, the different languages that speak to my soul. A poet finds inspiration everywhere, and that keeps me writing in the dark, in the light, at home and on the road.
