Lynette Hlongwane was born in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. Her poetry appears in anthologies published in France, Austria and South Africa. She has been commissioned by Oprah Winfrey for her "O" magazine (South Africa). Lynette's memoir, "A White Goat for the White House: Saved by Synchronicity" is available on amazon. Lynette is a recipient of two grants in the writing category from the National Arts Council in South Africa, as well as awards, scholarships and study grants from the British Council, Columbia University and the United Nations. She holds a Doctor of Education degree from Columbia University. The mother of 3 adult children divides her time between South Africa and Canada. She loves to take long walks, read, write and dance.
