Some poems do not flinch from telling it like it is and diving into the often vicious circumstances that enforce battles for survival.

The collection was critiqued by the Esperance writing group, mentored by Jacqueline Saphra and sliced open by Arji Manuelpillai all of whom I owe massive thanks. The Shetland poems of Jen Hadfield were also incredibly influential to the feel of this collection.
