Author Biography J. Leslie Holbrook is a freelance writer and Poet and resides in Boise, Idaho. She is a mother of 4 adult children, 10 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. She was an accomplished pianist at 12 years of age, and played piano and organ for church for many years. She owned and operated a business in Indiana. In the following years, became a beauty consultant, a Talent Agent and groomer for beauty pageants. Her writing started out to be a hobby, but she found that she had a talent for it, and pursued it with some success. Education: 4 year certificate - Religion- Bible Study. Business College, Lewiston ID. - Graduated. Her business letters are on permanent file, used in classroom instruction. Member of: Idaho Writer's League, Log Cabin Literature Center, Boise, ID. Writer's Workshops attended: Ball State University, North Manchester, IN., College, Idaho Falls, ID., Writer's Group Seminar. Credits are as follows: 1st place in a tri-state writer's write off (Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois) for a short story. Two second place ribbons, poetry contest, poetry published. Book- titled, "Suspended Moments," religious genre, published by Northwest Publishing. Book of poetry, titled, "Pages of Gold." Poem on regional government, titled "Old Glory's Shadow of Silent Voice " published in the newspaper, Wabash Plain Dealer, Wabash, IN, picked up and used in classroom instruction at Ball State University, featured and read over the radio on a Book Notes program. A narrative, rhyming short story, "Santa's Debut"- narrated over the radio on a special Christmas program.
