Winning the War for Talent: How to attract and retain top performers (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781923007802)

The ultimate success of any organisation comes down to its ability to consistently hire the best talent and to retain that talent. Richard Triggs, one of Australia's top executive search specialists, has provided in this book a step-by-step, proven methodology that any business can implement, from start-ups and small, entrepreneurial companies, through to market-leading multi-nationals.

The book is separated into two sections. The first section, focussed on how to Attract Top Performers, begins with how you as leaders, and your organisations, can build your brand as an Employer of Choice. You will learn how to develop a comprehensive brief to ensure you are attracting people who have "done it before, done it well, and are motivated to do it again". You'll gain an in-depth understanding of the best sourcing strategies, including referrals, advertising and headhunting. You'll learn a great way to interview for success, what checks to make along the way, and how to manage the offer to avoid counteroffers. It truly is a "follow the bouncing ball" guide to hiring, that is easy to understand and easy to implement.

The second section is focused on how to Retain Top Performers. Richard talks about how to maintain a culture of Love and Accountability, starting from the executive leadership team down. Through incorporating some interesting Eastern philosophy, you'll learn how often it is people's subconscious patterns of behaviour that influence their ability to perform, and as a leader what you can do about this. You will learn about a fantastic performance management tool, called the Preferred Reality Framework, that will enable you to significantly improve both individual and team performance, including your own.

Richard's direct, thought-provoking and challenging style will leave the reader feeling excited and empowered. Now leaders can with confidence know they will truly be able to reach their full potential personally, and as a business, and gain a true competitive advantage, through their people.
