The problem of postmodernism and Anglo-linguistic philosophy's omnipresent relativism is met with a cry of despair and often hearkens back to a mode of meaning derived from something like a Heideggerian 'care' or Schopenhauerian ontology of the Will. An air of frustration is unmistakable and, while the author does not talk down to the prospective reader, a call to something like a mainstream philosophy of meaning is made, to serve the man in the street, while the Academy and its universities receive some criticism.
