Wired to Connect: Why Your Nervous System Is Sabotaging Your Relationships - and How to Rewire It (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798258544629)

Most people in failing relationships don't have a commitment problem. They have a mechanism problem.

The desire for connection is real. The effort is documented. The conversations have been had, the patterns have been named, and the work has been sustained at a level most people cannot account for. And yet the distance between what the relationship should produce and what it actually delivers has never fully closed -- not after the therapy, not after the honest conversation, not after the person who was supposed to be different turned out not to be.

It hasn't closed because it was never going to close from the behavioral level. The pattern producing the distance lives somewhere effort cannot reach.

Wired to Connect identifies five specific conditioned configurations of the nervous system that account for the most consistently observed relational patterns studied through the Gaia Capacity Assessment. Each one is measurable. Each one has a precise biological mechanism. And each one has been producing its characteristic cost -- in intimacy depth, in relational stability, in the quality of connection the nervous system keeps reaching for and cannot quite receive.

In this book you will:

• Identify which of the five configurations is governing your relational life
• Understand the precise biological mechanism behind your pattern
• Learn why insight and effort produce understanding without structural change
• Locate the biological conditions under which genuine rewiring becomes possible

This is not a relationship book. It is a diagnostic one.

The problem is not your history. It is your biology. And the biology is changeable.

Wired to Connect is Book 3 in The Gaia Method Series, following Prosperity Awaits and Wired to Survive. For readers of neuroscience-based nonfiction, attachment science, and evidence-based personal development.
