From affuent and good people they are plunged into a life of conflict, isolated from each other and scattered over a country dominated by the Nazis and their ruthless ideology which led their country to be despised and defeated in WW II.

In the middle of it all there is Otto, a young pilot of the German Wehrmacht in WW I. Full of patriotism and obedience he faces his fate and tries to give his best for his country. His story is one of love, but also of scheming and of treason. Unexpected events lead him first to Cuba, then on to Mexico, two countries which will never let him go again.
