Jack Knapp grew up in Louisiana and joined the Army after graduating from high school. He served three tours in Germany and traveled throughout western Europe before retiring. Jack graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso before beginning his second career, teaching science. Always an avid reader, he took naturally to writing. He's a knight of the Society for Creative Anachronism, so combat scenes involving swords, spears, and bows and arrows are reality based. Recent novels examine the challenges humanity will face when we begin to spread out into space. Beginning with a startup company building the first practical spacecraft (The Ship), to growing a business in space while overcoming Earth-based obstacles (NFI: New Frontiers, Inc), to humanity's first contact with a non-human species (NEO: Near Earth Objects and BEMs: Bug Eyed Monsters) the novels are largely based on current events. A fifth novel in the New Frontiers Series, MARS: the Martian Autonomous Republic of Sol, was published May 2017. Jack's boundless imagination is evident in all his books. How imaginative?
