She was Professor of Women's Health and Director, Key Centre for Women's Health in Society in the Melbourne School of Population Health at The University of Melbourne until her retirement in February 2008. Doreen is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia and an Officer in the Order of Australia.
