The author is a Marine Corps veteran, who spent his working career as an inner city firefighter after serving in the Marines. Most of his spare time is now spent camping and fishing. He is now able to enjoy the company of his grandchildren, who like most kids, wish they could have experienced the adventures that their grandfather had experienced as a young boy. Of course the author is now enjoying the best of both worlds, because he is able to experience the same fun and excitement that his grandchildren enjoy.
