Wormholes and Other Unlikely Places: A Collection of Fantasy, Horror, and Science Fiction Stories (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781972472019)

Wormholes and Other Unlikely Places will take you to places where you will encounter a genre bending blend of stories that spawn the gamut of fantasy, science fiction and horror. There will be love and death, vengeance and fear along the way. You may find yourself in ancient Tibet, the site where an alien space vessel crashed, or in a safari in Tanzania, where the most dangerous creatures are the undead, perhaps even in a dystopian game show where the winner will get a massive cash prize-if they survive, that is.

Carl Alves's first short story collection is sure to take you into the unexpected, be it an abandoned house filled with secrets and dark echoes of the past, a snowstorm so devastating that it requires a miracle to save those trapped in it, or close to a creature tearing apart the locals in the 18th century French countryside. Let the familiar unsettle you and the unexpected twist you into knots. Ghosts and memories will creep up on you, luring you to the fragile boundary between the reality and what is only imaginable. In these pages, social media goes awry and meetings can take place between presidents and gods of myth.

Take care as you turn these pages. They may lead to a doorstep of endless and unreachable landscapes where the paranormal is commonplace and the spirits of undead tribal chiefs wreak havoc. With some luck, you will safely navigate through these strange lands but, beware, you may not make it back.
