Write More F*cking Books: A no-BS guide for writers who keep not writing: A no-BS guide for writers who keep not writing (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781962490153)

With over one hundred books written, and most of them for other people, former ghostwriter and author Jody Ortiz has spent more than two decades in the trenches of professional writing. She has written fast, written slow, written through grief and illness and fear and a stalking campaign that lasted for years. She has been traditionally published, fought to get her rights back, and self-published on her own terms. She knows why books don't get written because she's lived most of the reasons herself.

Write More F*cking Books is a no-nonsense, occasionally irreverent guide for fiction and nonfiction writers at every level who struggle to start, continue, or finish their books. Drawing on personal experience, twenty-plus years of professional writing, and a deep familiarity with Myers-Briggs personality theory, Ortiz identifies the real reasons writers don't write, including time, fear, perfectionism, lack of inspiration, research paralysis, and life itself. She delivers practical, immediately actionable advice for each one.

Structured in four parts, the book covers the most common writing blocks and how to break them, concrete tools for actually getting the book written, a comprehensive personality-type guide to writing blocks and fixes for all sixteen Myers-Briggs types, and the non-negotiables every writer needs to hear before they can finish.

Funny, direct, and unflinchingly honest, because some of the advice is just "write the f*cking book," Write More F*cking Books is for the writer who has been almost done for two years. For the writer who has seventeen ideas and zero finished manuscripts. For the writer who helps everyone else first and saves nothing for themselves. And for the writer who was told it couldn't be done that fast and almost believed it.

It can be done. Ortiz wrote the first draft of this book in five days.
