The year is 1973, the era of tie-dye shirts and bell bottom pants. Addie's husband, Becker, takes a job at a recycling plant in Corona, California. He's called in to work late one night and doesn't return home. Battling against the odds, Addie searches for her missing husband and finds herself caught in a web of lies and deceit, while, at the same time, her friend is kidnapped and Addie puts her life on the line to rescue her.

Addie's brother is attending law school at Harvard. Their childhood friend is an officer with the Santa Monica Police Department. Addie's parents are in Paris. They all drop what they are doing and rush to Addie's aid. Twenty-three-year-old Missy, Addie's evil sister, is in Las Vegas getting a divorce from Husband No. 2, marrying Attorney Hardickens, and demanding that the family fly to Vegas for her wedding. Meet the teacher who supplements her income as a hitwoman, and become acquainted with the socialite who takes in the homeless husband of her recently deceased friend. Join this quirky cast of characters as they solve the cases of the missing husband and the kidnapped friend.
