Year of the Vanguard: A Lyra Expanse Novel (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798251446807)

Humanity crossed the stars to find a new beginning.

Instead, they found a frontier on the verge of collapse.

After six centuries in stasis, the crew of the Aurora awakens in the distant Lyra Expanse-a region meant to be humanity's next great home. The Astral Venture had prepared the way, scouting new worlds and building the infrastructure for a thriving civilization.

But when Scott Brennan and the Vanguard team arrive, nothing is as it should be.

Colonies are struggling. Key outposts stand abandoned. Political factions are locked in bitter conflict, and vital resources are running out.

As a newly appointed Vanguard, Scott's job is to do what the Astral Venture once did: explore the Expanse, evaluate potential colony worlds, and protect the fragile remnants of humanity's expansion.

Yet every mission reveals new dangers.

Hostile alien powers threaten the frontier. Mysterious anomalies hint at forces far older than humanity. And the deeper Scott investigates the Astral Venture's legacy, the clearer it becomes that something went terribly wrong centuries ago.

Because the Lyra Expanse was never just a new frontier.

It may be the battleground for something far larger.

Year of the Vanguard continues The Lyra Expanse Saga, a sweeping science-fiction epic filled with exploration, alien civilizations, political intrigue, and galaxy-spanning mysteries.
