Laurie received a Masters of Arts in Education in Clinical Counseling from a Christian liberal arts university, and is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Laurie has worked in clinical and shelter settings, counseling female, child and male victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and other forms of abuse. She also has been the coordinator of a Batterers Intervention Program, working with male perpetrators of domestic violence, women who resort to violence and female perpetrators of domestic violence. In 2015, Laurie started Family Peace, LLC, (familypeace.net) whose mission is to education and empower clergy and congregations to respond to and minister to all members of the family when there is domestic violence. Laurie is married to a loving Christian man. Her home is peaceful and she works to help others, victims and perpetrators alike, understand every home can be a place of sanctuary.
