xJanis D. Lasser taught English literature and journalism in New Jersey before moving to New York City where she worked for Foreign Affairs magazine at the Council on Foreign Relations. She went on to produce and host MetroMedia TV's "SpeakEasy: People in the Public Eye," and wrote copy for WPIX-TV. She wrote and filmed the award winning documentary, "Saving the Children of the Sea," chronicling the 1989 Aklaskan wildlife rescue efforts during the Exxon Valdez oil spill crisis. Ms. Lasser received a Master's in Social Work with Phi Alpha Honors from Our Lady of the Lake University's Worden School. Ms. Lasser, a social work specialist in geriatrics, has conducted family support groups for over ten years and is currently Director of Social Services for a healthcare company in San Antonio, Texas.
