HARVEY D. HEARTLEY, SR. (1934-2014) was an associate professor of health and physical education for over 30 years. Throughout his tenure as a professor, he served as the director of athletics and the men's head basketball coach at Saint Augustine's University in Raleigh, North Carolina. An inductee into the Saint Augustine's University Hall of Fame, the NCCU Hall of Fame, the Johnston County Hall of Fame and the CIAA Hall of Fame. He won several championships and received numerous "Coach of the Year" awards. On January 8, 2015, the basketball court at St. Augustine's University was renamed and dedicated to him.
