Dan Kincaid worked for the U.S. Forest Service for 30+ years, including five national forests and other assignments. After retiring as a District Ranger in 2006, he worked for six years with state forestry agencies and two years as a contract forester with the Wayne National Forest. Earlier in his career he also spent nearly 2 1/2 years as a public affairs forester for a major forest products company. Between the years of 1978-1990 he wrote weekly outdoor columns for various newspapers in Georgia and Ohio. Kincaid holds a Bachelor's degree in Forest Management from West Virginia University and a Masters degree in Forestry from Duke University.
